Carfin Grotto, situated in the Parish of St Francis Xavier’s in the village of Carfin, near Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, is Scotland’s National Shrine to Our Lady of Lourdes. Opened in 1922 by Monsignor Thomas Canon Taylor, the Grotto welcomes over 70,000 pilgrims each year from across the globe. The Grotto is open 365 day a year, with Daily Masses, Confession, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Novenas and Processions taking place each week during the Pilgrimage Season which runs from April to October. For over ninety years, Scotland’s National Lourdes Shrine has attracted groups from parishes, schools and church organisations from across the United Kingdom who come to experience a special place of pilgrimage, prayer and peace.
When leaving the Carfin Lourdes Grotto after I finished my Facebook Live, a fan approached for a photo as her cousin has tagged her in my live to tell her to come and hello !!
Now would you look at this … thank you mum for the sign !!
What a wonderful day in Motherwell doing private readings and our visit to Carfin Lourdes Grotto, now it’s time for a cuppa, some criminal minds and endless puppy cuddles !!
