[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Good morning, good afternoon, good evening! It feels like it’s been ages since I’ve written down all my ramblings on paper (virtual paper in my case!) It has been a weird few weeks, to say the least.
As always we have been busy touring. It began with a week down south which I briefly mentioned in my previous blog post which finished up in Harrogate. It was a great week, even though I was stuffed up with a head cold which always makes even the simple task of breathing seem difficult haha.
Now I’m gonna offload… I wasn’t going to write about it on here, and to be honest, wasn’t even really going to make it public knowledge but I ramble to you guys every few weeks and it felt fitting to keep you in the loop!
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”95153″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On the 14th of March (the Thursday after I got back from Harrogate) I received a message to give me the news that my dad passed away. Now some of you won’t even probably have realised that he was out of the picture for me because I don’t speak about my personal life as much, but never-the-less he was there. We had an on and off relationship and to be honest it was mostly off from my side of the story. There was nothing in particular that caused this, but it would be crossed words on most occasions when we spoke, then we would make up but it would ultimately go south again. I always knew deep in my heart that I would feel some kind of regret and guilt for this when he passes away, but being the ‘ Strong, Independent Woman’ I always profess to be I guess I thought I could escape that! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”95151″ img_size=”medium”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Turns out I couldn’t! I’ve felt all kinds of emotions since finding out the information. He passed on the 12th of January for a start, 2 days before my Birthday, and was laid to rest on the 1st of February, my nana’s Birthday! It would be foolish of me given the job I do if I didn’t view these as signs so my heart knows better than to question the coincidence in the dates colliding.
My dad has two older sons, to his previous wife. It was my older half brother that contacted me regarding my dad and since then myself and he have begun re-developing our relationship and have been in regular contact since. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It’s funny how sometimes out of tragic circumstances comes something good, and being back in contact with my brothers and their families is definitely something I should be grateful for!
All this being said I’ve been in a really strange mind set since hearing the news – I can’t seem to screw my head back on quite right. My diet has been all over the place as have my moods. April for me is the start of rectifying all of this, as of April 1st I’m back following Slimming World, not only because it makes my body feel better but my mind as well. I need to remember that it gives me control of how I feel instead of letting my body dictate how I feel.

Back on it means lots of yummy food photos and trying new recipes a few old favourites making a return. Diet Coke Chicken and good old beans and tomatoes on toast! Watch this space… Jess is back in the game! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
We had a wee adventure last weekend before I headed away down south for the week. We went to Glencoe and Fort William. I was astounded by the number of Rainbows we saw whilst on our travels, there was so many. A particularly special one was the one we saw over the canal in Fort William. It was a double rainbow and although I got soaking wet taking a photograph it was too good of an opportunity to miss! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”95155″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Just like that… the weekend was over… don’t you find that the weekends fly by.

Monday saw us off down south for our last week touring before Paula’s two-week break. We visited Preston, The Wirral, Anglesey and The Isle of Man. I always go out and about when we have time in different cities and my favourite jaunt was around the grounds of the hotel in Anglesey. The sun was bursting out of the sky and the birds were singing, it was delightful (jeez I sound like Snow White! Haha) [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We had a brilliant week away, and now as Paula jets off to Tenerife for the week I’m heading into the office to wrap up all the paperwork before taking a week off myself. Lyndsey and I have made a bold move and are heading off in a hired campervan for the week!! How exciting! We are either going to love it or hate it but rest assured we will create memories and have a giggle along the way. Wish us luck!
Until next time you beautiful bunch! Jess Jess
