One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is “Why does my TV go on and off?” Or “Can my loved one in heaven play with my lights?”.
The answer to this and hundreds of other electric related questions is…
YES!
Our loved ones love nothing more than to come and show they are around you. However, for most of us we just do not know that they may be stood right next to us.
If any of you have seen the film Ghost, one of my all time favourite movies by the way… it is just like that! I am going to talk about the film a little, so if you haven’t seen it, pause this, go and watch it and come back later lol.
For a start, it has Patrick Swayze in it! OMG, need I say more… I worship him, like in my head I can dirty dance with him in one of his other amazing movies. Yes, I can do the lift and everything, I did point out it was in my head right lol. The harsh reality is that I have two left feet and he would literally need a crane to lift me off the floor lol, I am sat here lolling to myself out loud! Join in, if you wish.
Where was I?? Oh yes, Ghost. So, in the movie he gets murdered and knows that his wife played by Demi Moore is in danger so he has to get a message to her from heaven. He enlists the help of crazy psychic played by Whoopi Goldberg and I have to say there is rather too much similarity to me and her…mmm.
I could have played the part so well, except I would have maybe drooled a little too much when I stood next to Patrick, did I tell you I had a crush on him? Just a little one, nothing major, moving on now swiftly. Anyway, he has to learn how to use his powers as a ghost to talk to her, when he does wow, its pure magic!
So in reality they can use anything in their power to talk to us! To get us to see the signs that they are with you, all of us.
The most powerful one is to make lights flicker or go on and off and even make the bulbs pop! Happens to us all the time at events, theatres and at home and I am sure you have experienced it yourself?
Sure they can go off on their own accord but as a rule of thumb, if something happens 3 or more times it is your loved ones in heaven doing it! When it happens, especially if you are there to witness it, say hello!
One of the other items they love to use is a kettle! The humble kettle, who would have thought it huh? I have lost count of how many kettles I’ve went through thinking they were faulty, only to realise it was my brothers having fun with me!
They love nothing more than to flick the on and off switch repeatedly, for us just to know they are there, keeping us safe.
However, the all time firm favourite is without doubt the TV! And if you have a Sky unit or digital TV media operating system. Literally, they can stop recordings and say it’s clashed when you know it hasn’t or recording failed! I giggle at how many Sky engineers must have been called out to repair boxes that cannot be repaired unless you have a Sky box in heaven.
You might find that they come and visit you more during times of struggle or when you may be feeling vulnerable and need that extra hug? This is their unique way of simply saying “I got you”. I don’t know about you though, having part shares in light bulbs can be a bit annoying!
So, if your Christmas fairy lights flicker and your TV doesn’t work how it should, your kettle boils itself and things go bang in the night, don’t be quite so quick to throw it out. There might be more to it than you think!
Namaste
