I LIKE TO THINK OF MYSELF AS A ‘ SPIRITUAL ‘ PERSON …..
‘Except what actually does that mean ?’
I pondered this question myself for a while and came up with the following explanation : it isn’t a religion for me although I do believe in God and all she stands for . I believe in having faith and often refer to this my work, faith can be multi dimensional and it can often mean to me having faith in oneself and in life and in what is coming for you , gifted by your Angels. Spirituality is different to this though for me. It is the thought of being calm, being in the moment , being there in all that is possible in this world and beyond.
It’s allowing yourself to think beyond the five senses that we use everyday. It’s about allowing more , going deeper, higher than you currently allow. That freedom to explore more then what is in this every day life.
Every day I am allowed to see beyond what is in this life. It is not something I ever take for granted and something I am eager to explore in my work and my life. I question many times why I was granted this ability to see beyond what it is and for a while it actually sat very heavily with me. The fact that I could speak and at times see your loved ones and in part the majority of you reading this can’t do that. I love teaching that if you open your gates and let in the spiritual side of you then you would have a greater understanding of your very own loved ones in heaven and communicate with them in a similar way I do. I have learnt to let go of the worldly restrictions we carry with us on our journeys and embrace the spiritual side of life.
I have spent many years reading and studying other peoples ideas of this subject and I have learned it means different things to different people. It isn’t about a religious code of conduct but yet it is about who you believe you are, perhaps a pilgrimage to find who you really are ?
To let go of things, and stuff, and the day to day thoughts that keep us pigeon holed if you like in a certain way of thinking.
It takes a long time to let go of our habits and the habitual way of thinking , that for many of us, myself included that has held us down and kept us on one track.
Do you listen to yourself ? Or listen to others version of what they think you should be ? Do you listen to your soul or follow the rules of others? Are you free to think and feel what you actually think or feel or do you keep it boxed in because letting it out would distress others ? To me spiritual is about setting your mind free, setting free your soul and allowing yourself to simply be in this moment . To listen to our guides, to our Angels , to follow their guidance and dreams and signs , to evolve into something more than what this world has for us. It is to allow ourselves to go perhaps where the other people are afraid to and to allow yourself to be on the road to nowhere and everywhere at once….
I don’t think we should be afraid to follow this path and we should keep it simple and not complicate this or fear it as something that we don’t understand. It’s as simple as we make it and as fun as we allow .
Imagine another world that we can enter , a world of peace and calm and hope and love. This world can be yours if you dare to venture into it. Imagine this as a dream and allow your loved ones to engage with you in this world. Listen to their talk and allow the signs to be given to you daily. Imagine being so calm that thing stresses you out or worries you . Imagine being so well that no amount of stress or worry can affect you . Imagine just simply being in this moment for all it has to give.
This to me is being spiritual ………….this to me is living in the moment.
There are many ways we can become more spiritual in our life
- Learn mediation
- Walk in the country or on a beach
- Allow your mind to rest
- Practise yoga
- Learn to relax
- Be love
- Give thanks
- Stop moaning and complaining
- Learn to be aware of yourself
- Be aware of your needs and wants
- Do things for pleasure
- Give to others
- Look for signs around you
There are many books that you can read on this matter and for me one of the greatest teachers was, and still is, Wayne Dyer. He has taught me so much about letting go and being in this moment. That for me is spiritual
I hope in some small way this inspires you to find who you are and perhaps dip your toe in your spiritual adventure , after all it all starts with just one step !
